The past few weeks have been tough for artistes across the world, following the banning of public gatherings and music concerts that formed a big chunk of their income.
The ban has forced several artistes to find alternative means of entertaining their fans, with most taking advantage of YouTube and other online platforms to create diverse content for their fans.
In Tanzania, the Wasafi crew led by Diamond has been producing hits and videos over the past month, with that paying off in the latest YouTube ranking.
According to the Swahili Times, Diamond had the highest views on YouTube in April, managing to secure over 40 million views on his channel.

The over 40 million views accrued by Diamond in April have pushed him closer to being the first African to secure one billion views as he is currently at 954,640,434 views.
A part from the three, other artistes who made it to the lists include;
Alikiba (14.6M), Mbosso (8.8M) Zuchu (7.6M) Juma Jux (4.9M), Aslay (3.5M) Lavalava (3.5M), and finally Marioo with 1.7M.

Reacting to the ranking, Diamond thanked his fans for helping him achieve the milestone. He also applauded Wasafi’s new signing Zuchu for making it to the list despite being an upcoming artiste.
“Congrats @officialzuchu it's not easy for an upcoming artist to be on that position within 3 Weeks....Nafarijika kuona hata kwenye Michuano Migumu Wanawake wanapata Muwakilishi....Shukran Nyingi ziwafikie Mashabiki na wadau walokupokea, lakini za Kipekee ziwafikie wanaake wote, maana nguvu ya Umoja wenu imeonekana kwenye hili....” he posted.
