Multi-award winning Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido last week released visuals to his hit single titled 'D&G'.

'D&G' is part of Davido's 'A Good Time' album that has performed extremely well across the globe since it was released on November 22, 2019.

While unveiling the new video, Davido announced that proceeds to the song that features R&B singer Summer Walker would support the Dolce & Gabbana and Humanitas Together for Coronavirus Research fund.

The announcement got the attention of the world and led to an interview with American news-based pay television channel, CNN

During the interview on Saturday, Davido explained on why he opted to donate proceeds of the music to help support research on Covid-19.

"People are really going through a hard time. This is the first time something like this has paused the whole world. A lot of people out here make money from day to day, like, surviving day to day pay. That's not possible because we all have to stay inside," Davido told CNN.

The singer has tested, first hand, the effects of the pandemic after his wife to be Chioma tested positive for the virus.

Chioma has since recovered from the virus after testing negative twice.

Asked on how he felt like staying in the same house with Chioma who had then contracted the virus, Davido said "it was crazy".

"We had no symptoms. Nobody in the house had symptoms. Out of all 34 of us that got tested, she was the only one that came out positive, which was crazy to us," he said.
