Simi Drops ‘Duduke’ Video, Reveals she’s Expectant

Just days after dropping the official audio for her 2020 debut song dubbed ‘Duduke’, Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress Simi has released its visual.
When ‘Duduke’ audio was released last week, on April 16, listening to it, one would easily conclude that it was a love song in which Simi pours out his heart to the love of her heart.
However, watching the video will change that conclusion as it is now emerging that the sweet lyrics in ‘Duduke’ song were all dedicated to Simi’s unborn child.
Simi shows off the baby bump in the new video and this makes even clear the lyrics in the song like; “I can not wait to see you You are the treasure I’ve been waiting for
Do you know, do you know How much I really need you I dey pray for the day when, I can finally kiss you. You know say everyday I dey pray for you Oh in my heart today suppose made a place for you.”
In the chorus, Simi sings; “That’s why my heart e dey beat like duduke, du du ke Cos na you I choose oh, ayanfe mi, a yan fe I sing for you wana be like duduke, du du ke Baby na you I go beat for ayanfe mi, a yan fe.”
The singer born Simisola Ogunleye is married Adekunle Gold who is also a Nigerian singer in 2019.
The couple is now expecting their firstborn child.
The new video ‘Duduke’ was released under Simi's record label Studio Brat. It premiered on April 19th, coinciding with Simi’s birthday. So far it has over 287,000 views on YouTube.
In a post on her Instagram page introducing the new video, Simi said: “Happy Birthday Simi. My heart is racing too fast to say anything else. #PrayForme #DudukeVideo Link in my bio.”
‘Duduke’ is a mid-paced song that is good for the year due to Simi’s beautiful voice, and the video is worth your time.
