Tanzanian singer Dudu Baya has now been officially banned from releasing any new music by the Tanzanian music regulatory board BASATA.

This comes after Dudu Baya also known as Godfrey Tuaini was accused of using abusive language on his social media pages.

The latest ban comes after the veteran artiste was given several warnings for the same mistake.

BASATA made the decision after receiving a direct order from Tanzania's minister of information.

In a letter sent to the press, BASATA noted that the license issued by the agency to Dudu Baya had been terminated permanently.

According to the agency, by using abusive language on social media, the artiste was going against the country’s code for artistes.

Before the latest ban, Dudu Baya had been summoned at least twice in 2020 for going against the BASATA code of conduct.

In January this year, Dudu Baya had been banned permanently, but he was pardoned by the country’s minister.

Despite the pardon, the singer continued to rebel against the National arts council thereby leading to his second ban.

By press time, neither Dudu Baya nor his team had issued any communication regarding the ban.
