Dremo's CODENAME Vol.2 EP Was Hurriedly Released After It Was Leaked, Says Davido

Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) rapper Dremo's release of a new EP dubbed CODENAME Vol.2 on Friday morning came as a surprise to many.

It has now emerged that the 12-track EP was actually not planned for release on that day but in a month's time.

According to DMW boss Davido, they had to hurriedly drop the EP after it was leaked.

In a tweet on Saturday, April 18, Davido said; "Crazy things is #CV2 was meant to come out in a months time ... someone actually leaked it yesterday Morning and we had to rush and drop it !! God is good !! KEEP STREAMING !!."

Dremo even gave more finer details of their rush to beat the dateline and drop the CODENAME Vol.2 EP before it was late.

He noted that three of the songs, were yet to be fined tuned and producers had to work extra hard to finalize then by midnight.

@11am, told David and we decided to drop by mid night , mind you , i was meant to collect the final mixes for Sharp sharp, sweet pain and who’s ur guy..if i didn’t get those songs by 10pm i wouldn’t have been able to drop! bruuh ok'" he tweeted.

Adding that: "@10:35pm i got all the songs, thank u @swapsonthemix for coming through during a crucial time.. David said to me “ we will make it work “, to cut the long story short ... “SHARPERLY!!! WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT!!! thank u bro @davido."

The CODENAME Vol.2 EP features some musical heavyweights in Nigeria among them Davido, Naira Marley, and Peruzzi.

Songs in the new project are already performing well in the charts with three of them having been listed among the top 10 as at Saturday while all the 12 tracks made it to top 30.

The three are Mabel featuring Davido, Stfu, and Konjinaba featuring Naira Marley.

Already CODENAME Vol.2 has been ranked as the number one Album in Nigeria.
