After all the glamour, Zuchu dropped seven songs that make up her ‘I am Zuchu’ EP. Here is a review of the top songs:
1. Mauzauza
In Mazauza, she features her mum Khadija Kopa. The song has a taarab feel and focuses on a know it all girl.
The two singers tell off the girl for lying to people about what she does yet she can’t really say what it is. For one, they call her ‘Mauzauza’ more like ‘The Seller’.She is further warned to keep off other people’s business lest she wants to be taught manners by the world. Basically talks of the famous “Asiyefunzwa na mamaye hufunzwa na ulimwengu.”
2. Raha
Raha is a love song telling us how she is in love. Zuchu starts off by telling us what her man has been telling her so far and how he pampers her with so much love. It is your typical romantic song with a feel of RnB, taarab tune and Bongo twist to it.
3. Ashua
‘Ashua’ is another love song where she has featured Wasafi’s Mbosso. In the song, Mbosso asks his woman to show off about their love. They tell each other to ignore those that gossip about them instead dance to every tune of what love is.
Other songs in her EP include; Nisamehe, Kwaru, Hakuna Kulala, and finally Wana.
Wana was her first release after being introduced as the newest Wasafi member. As it stands the views on YouTube are at 1.2million and still counting.
