Diamond's 'Jeje' Hits New Milestone in UK

Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platinumz continues to fly high with his latest hit single ‘Jeje’.

 This is after the song emerged top on the DNA top five show on UK’s BBC 1Extra radio.

The station enjoys a good reputation globally and it's known for hosting some of the international music acts.

A thrilled Diamond took it to Instagram, to announce the latest milestone. “When i tell you #JEJE is the Number one African song I mean it!.....We are in UK now! Number 1, On @bbc1xtra , @iamdjedu DNA TOP 5”, posted Diamond.

On the chart, Diamond emerged ahead of other top artists like Mr. Eazi and Burna Boy from Nigeria.

 At the same, time ‘Jeje’ was also featured on the Shade Room Instagram page.

Shade Room is a popular platform that only features high trending videos.

Diamond joins Vanessa Mdee and Willy Paul as the only celebrities to feature on the page from East Africa.

Since the release of the song one month ago, it has garnered about 10 million views.

Diamond went ahead to release a dance and an animation video that have amassed close to one million views.

Furthermore, ‘Jeje’ has gone ahead to influence the Tanzanian culture with artists like Bushoke borrowing the song’s concept in their songs.
