Yemi Alade Takes to Social Media to Sensitize Fans on Coronavirus

With the effects of Coronavirus pandemic being felt across the globe, musicians have now joined in efforts to sensitize people about the highly contagious virus.
One such musician is Nigeria’s Yemi Alade.
Famed for her single hit ‘Johnny’, the singer born Yemi Eberechi Alade took to her Facebook story section where she shared a series of videos in which she urges people to stay at home.
In one of the videos, Yemi Alade who gained prominence after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009 sings, “Stay at home now, I see you walking around, this thing no be joke ooh….”
In another video, the singer also asks countries not to lock down due to Coronavirus.
“America don’t lock down, Italy don’t lock down, China don’t lock down, Nigeria Never down…”
Nigeria is among several African countries that have already confirmed cases of Coronavirus. The West African country reported its first-coronavirus related death on Monday.
As per reports published by CNN, there were 36 Coronavirus cases confirmed across six states in Nigeria as of Monday.
Globally, statistics by Al Jazeera indicate that more than 16,500 people have died from COVID-19, while more than 382,000 infections have been confirmed in at least 177 countries and territories.
Nearly 102,000 people have recovered from the coronavirus.
