Diamond Platnumz Sets New Record in Africa

Tanzanian singer Naseeb Abdul Juma popularly known as Diamond Platnumz has made history by becoming the first African artist to surpass 900 million views on YouTube.
With over three million YouTube subscribers, Diamond has garnered about 903 million views to date from video content.
Diamond has achieved the milestone with just a decade in the music industry, beating other big African names.
Notably, Diamond has beat stars like Davido who has 543 million views, Wizkid with 792 million, and Burna Boy with 429 million views.

On Monday, Diamond took to Instagram and expressed his gratitude towards achieving the fete, adding that a new song is on the way.
An overview of Diamond’s YouTube channel shows that to date, one of his most successful songs is Lingala hit “Yope” featuring Innos’ B with over 73 million views in just six months.
Currently, Diamond is ruling the airwaves with his latest single ‘Jeje’ which has over 8 million views within three weeks of being released.
Apart from sharing music on the channel, Diamond usually updates his fans with behind the scenes sessions for different music video shoots.
Diamond alongside his Wasafi crew are currently in self-isolation after his manager Sallim SK tested positive for the Coronavirus.
