After parting ways with Diamond Platinumz owned Wsafi record label, Tanzanian musician Rich Mavoko embarked on a solo career that has taken different turns.
Before joining Wasafi, mavoko was signed to Kaka Empire where his career did not pick up as expected.
Just like other Wasafi acts, Rich Mavoko’s career shot up after teaming up with his fellow countrymen.

To date, his most popular feature at Wasafi is 'Zilizopendwa'.
After leaving the label, many spelled doom for Mavoko’s career. However, his career has been progressing well despite a slow start.
Here are the top two Rich Mavoko’s songs since going independent.
1. Usizuge.
This is the most successful song by Rich Mavoko after quitting Wasafi. To date, the song has garnered close to one million views.
There is considerable effort used in piecing together the lyrics and instrumentals. Additionally, the video is top quality.
2. Babilon.
On YouTube, Babilon has amassed over half a million views. Although the figure is still low compared to his Wasafi days, Mavoko proved that he still adheres to quality.
Giving it a reggae vibe, Mavoko shows that he can diversify and be good at it.
