Akothee Beats Nandy, Fena, Vanessa Mdee to Win Top Award

Celebrated Kenyan female musician Akothee on Saturday won the Best Female musician in East Africa at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) 2019.
Akothee beat top musicians including; Vanessa Mdee, Nandy, Fena Gitu, Victoria Kimani among others.
Speaking after receiving the award, she thanked her fans for supporting her.
During the same award gala, renowned Radio presenter Willy M Tuva was crowned Best Radio/TV personality in Africa.
In a tweet, Tuva appreciated his fans for the support, and vowed to unite the African content through music.
“It is a celebration in Dallas. I got am international recognition and crowned the first ever @afrimma's Best Radio/TV Personality Of The Year. This means a lot to us. Huu ni ushindi wetu sote. I learned something; If you pray, work hard passionately and with faith God won't fail,” he posted.
“I have been crowned Africa's Best Radio/TV Personality in this year's @afrimma. After successfully uniting East Africa through music, I now take the challenge to unite Africa through music. Taking Kenyan music to East Africa, Africa and #MsetoToTheWorld,” he added.
