UGANDA:Micheal Benjamin Owor aka Dj Bush Baby

Michael Owor Benjamin is a journalist, radio, presenter and a dj by profession.

He got his stage name bush baby from his young sister

“It was given to me by lil' kid sis' Cherry while I was still working at 
Radio Uganda's Green channel some time back. it's now turned out to be a 
'miracle name'.”

Bush baby believes Djeeying is a real profession and people should not take djs for granted,

“I hate peeps who don't respect DJ's! It's a profession for crying out loud.”

He started his career at a young age and this all started when he went to Sanyu fm which was by then one of the only hitting radio stations in Uganda. And at this time his dreams were to become a musician, Big Ben opened and hosted him on the Afternoon Drive show where he shared his dreams of becoming Uganda’s Michael Jackson.

He then later decided to study journalism and communication with a motive to become a dj and play music of his own.

He later joined UBC radio and was retained by the boss because he was impressed by his voice and presentation and from then there was no looking back for Dj Bush Baby he was later contacted by the Tanzanian tycoon who was in the process of setting up Kiss FM in Tanzania.

Since his talent was undeniable he rose rapidly and he was called to work at East African Radio the only regional radio station and he became the proverbial spin master of the famed Friday Night Live on East Africa Radio and East African Tv.

He came back to Uganda in 2010 to bring back what he had learnt and to look for fresh opportunities in uganda.

He owns his own production house which have presented entertainment programs like jump Off (on Urban TV among others and also joined radio presentation at xfm.

While he was in Dar salaam he was able to record some tracks of his own like,

“my first single 'Ijumaa' was recorded @ empty soul’s records by a friend of mine called Solomon Lamba, it featured Nai's K-South, Shaki of the group Jawabu from Nai as well, plus Jafarai of Wateule in Dar and Diddy [upcoming artist from dar]. Njoo Nikupe love was recorded @ Poa Records by Amit who's currently in UK, Ijumaa rmx was recorded @ the same studio but produced by Bizman of Inafrika band, it features chamber squad, jafarai, complex”

Which he said were a part of an album that was to come out soon.

One of his greatest achievements is

“The day I landed a deal with ear all hits...it was a blessing.”

he is also a happily married man.
