UGANDA:The All Africa Music Awards 2016 Nominations

The list for the November 2016 Afrima award Nominees is out and Uganda featured in 9 of these categories which is a great achievement for the Uganda music industry.

The focus of that night will be

“To create a night of glamour, glitz and grandeur for Africa in its crowning glory through a world-class live

production event broadcast to over 80 countries around the world.”

The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), in conjunction with the African Union Commission (AUC), is designed to promote the distinct rich African music worldwide, engaging millions of fans by propelling African music to glorious pinnacles beyond the borders of Africa. AFRIMA, the Pan Africa music awards is produced by PRM AFRICA located in Lagos Nigeria to celebrate the most popular contemporary and traditional music in Africa.

Eddy Kenzo’s Mbilo Mbilo Remix with Niniola was nominated in various categories which included Best African Collaboration, Song Writer of the year, song of the year, Best artist in African Contemporary pop. And producer Kuseim and director Mex the producer and director of mbilo mbilo remix was nominated as producer of the year and video of the year.

Navio’s Njogereza was also nominated as the song of the year and he was also nominated as artiste of the year because of the same song.

Cindy’s Still Stading and Ziza Bafana’s Agende were both nominated in the category of Best Artiste African Reggea.

 

Chameleon because of his song Agatako with Dj Pius got him nominated as Best Artiste in African Pop.

The first edition of the annual AFRIMA award ceremony was held in, 2014 at the Grand Ballroom of Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria after thorough planning and preparations.

Nigeria won the rights over 13 other countries to host the continental awards ceremony for three consecutive years, 2014 to 2016, after which the hosting right is bid for and taken up by another African country.

This November it is happening again let’s start with the voting and ensure that our artists come home with these awards.
