Controversial rapper Prezzo a.k.a Jackson Makini spent some quality time with police at the Embakasi Police Station on Saturday afternoon following a public spat in Nyayo Estate, Nairobi.
Word Is reports that the rapper as arrested after he allegedly slapped a resident of Nyayo Estate and a KQ pilot identified as Stanley Kipchumba.
The incident sparked a flurry of rumors on social media with some claiming that guns were involved in the spat.
Popular blogger Robert Alai took to Facebook where he claimed Prezzo tried to highjack the pilot.
“Prezzo high on hard drugs tried to hijack a resident of Nyayo estate. Now arrested and booked into Embakasi police station. Threatening Nyayo Estate guards with guns. Don't try in Nyayo,” he wrote.
However while Embakasi DCIO Ephantus Kimulwa confirmed that Prezzo had been taken into police custody following the assault on Kipchumba he dismissed any rumors that claimed that a gun was involved.
Speaking to The Star the Embakasi DCIO said, : “At around noon on Saturday, KQ pilot Stanley Kipchumba drove into Nyayo Estate where he resides, and parked his car.
"As he was offloading shopping items from the boot, Prezzo with two other men, seemingly inebriated, approached Stanley and asked him to drop them in town.Stanley responded that he does not operate a taxi.
"At this point, Prezzo asked him, “ Kwani hujui mimi ni nani ?” (You don’t know who I am?)."
Prezzo is expected to be arraigned in court today (Monday, July 18, 2016) where he’ll be charged with assault.
