UGANDA: Mi Casa For Blankets And Wine

One could  argue House music is not popular in Uganda as well the reason the award winning band is not known in Uganda, but the genre just like Rock and Jazz is slowly and steadily finding its way into our entertainment scene and definitely has some ardent followers.

Therefore, once the line-up was made public, it drew mixed reactions from the fans of the BW as is affectionately referred with some questioning the organisers in the wisdom for the choice of this ‘unknown’ band while die-hard fans of house music punched the air as soon as they saw Mi Casa music is coming to town.

The band known for its hit song “These Streets” , was formed in early 2011 in Johannesburg as a result of some kind of lucky coincidence when the three members met at a night lounge and decided to perform together and a few months later they released an album titled ‘Micasa Music’. Like they say, they rest is history.

That album became popular in a few months and even went gold winning several awards at the 18th Annual MTNSouth Africa Music Awards in 2012.The band’s other popular songs include, “Heavenly sent” and ”La Vida”

Other artistes to share the same stage with Mi Casa include, The sultry Jackie Akello, Davis Ntare, Saxophonist MoRoots and soulful Kirya Kuti. Entry fee is set at 100,000/= and picnic gates open at midday till late.
