KENYA: No Bad Blood! King Kaka Congratulates His Former 'Kaka Empire' Artist Rich Mavoko After Signing With Diamond's 'Wasafi Records'

Questions rose yesterday as to whether there would be bad blood between Rich Mavoko and King Kaka after Bongo Star Diamond Platinumz announced that he had officially signed him onto his Record Label Wasafi Records.

Mavoko became a household name not only in Tanzania but also in Kenya two years ago when he released his hit single Roho Yangu taking the region by storm.

Soon after King Kaka (known back then as Rabbit) announced that he was signing him on to his record label Kaka Empire thus making him the biggest artist of the label, aside from Kaka himself.

And after Mavoko’s contract with Kaka Empire expired, he did not sign a new contract but instead went on to sign elsewhere. Therefore you can see where the bad blood might be coming from.

However for King Kaka, it seems that there were no hard feelings as he even took to social media and congratulated his former artist on his new signing to Wasafi Records.

"Congratulations to my brother and friend @richmavoko for Joining @diamondplatnumz 's Wasafi Records all the best, wishing you nothing but greatness, we had great times at Kaka Empire and looking forward to making more Hits and inspiring our generations. Kubwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (sic)" he wrote.

Speaking to Word Is about Mavoko’s departure from Kaka Empire, King Kaka said, "I was aware of Rich Mavoko signing with Wasafi. I have even congratulated him on my Instagram."

It was Diamond himself that broke the news of his new signing yesterday through social media saying, "Welcome to the Family @richmavoko Let's take Bongo fleva to the world!"
