MDUNDO EXCLUSIVE: Dream Come True For Kenyan Hiphop Fans, Lon Jon and Khaligraph Jones Working on a Collaborative Mixtape

If you love and follow Kenyan Hiphop, then there are two names that fall in top 10 if not the top of your list when it comes to the best rappers in Kenya.

And those names are Khaligraph Jones and Lon Jon. The two could easily be considered among the pioneers of new-age Hiphop in Kenya not only because of their style of rap, but also because of their age and the fact that they are two of the most gifted rappers from this new-age of Hiphop in Kenya.

While it took them quite a while to work together and the efforts of others (mainly DJ Hynotiq) to finally bring them together, there’s no doubt that it was worth the long wait.

Their recently released collaboration alongside Ulopa, dubbed Dabo for me is easily the biggest collaborative effort of 2016 thus far.

Speaking to Lon Jon who is just coming off his recent release of Be Alright, we asked him if there are plans of him working with Khaligraph on future projects seeing as it was clear the two work very well together.

“We have a couple of projects together, so this year we’re going to drop a couple more and maybe even work on a mixtape together,” he revealed.

Well, I don’t know about you but for any Hiphop-head out there, a Khaligraph-Lon Jon mixtape would sort of be like the Kenyan ‘Watch the Throne’. But that’s just me, let us know what you think.
