Navio embarks on a journey of uniting Hip hop artists
12 February 2014
Ugandan rapper ,Daniel Kigozi aka Navio as most might know him as,is urging all Ugandan rappers to work together towards strengthening the music scene in their country.
“There is a path back to greatness for UG. To push ghetto kids to factory owners, musicians to icons and African women to leaders. But it all starts with the way we think. Being in music, I have to say I've never experienced "friendly" competition.” He stated through his Facebook page.
It seems while others are looking forward to personal growth, money in the bank, and how their songs are doing on the charts,Navio is concerned for the entire country.
“Never been congratulated by anyone except from my team, my fans and randomly- Nigerian artists. There Is a culture of support that goes on in the US industry as well. Hip Hop as a genre is the most powerful, but still growing in Africa. We must rally behind each other to succeed." Navio further went on to add
Just recently Navio, female rapper Keko alongside other UG rappers, emberked on a venture organized by Talent Africa Entertainment with the intention of uniting artists in Uganda.
In the words of J.K Rowling, “We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”
