Its Bob Marley’s birthday today!One of music’s most iconic figures;Born in Jamaica in the year 1945 on February 6 as Nesta Robert Marley,he went in to become one of Reggae’s “It man” and a legend like-wise.
The Jamaican singer/song writer started off with the group,Wailers, where he forged his signature singing style and vocals, which later went on to capture many audiences attention and taste . After the group broke up Bob Marley speared ahead on a solo career which bore him the album, Exodus that gave him international recognition..
He died in May 11, 1981,in Miami, Florida,U.S.A and though he was 36 by the time he had fathered 14 kids and had a whole trail of albums under his name that would take most artists both a lifetime and afterlife to achieve.
Some of his popular songs include Buffalo Soldier, Redemption song,Iron Lion Zion,One Love,Is This Love,No Woman No Cry and many others
He won several awards and honors for his albums that influenced the society in a huge way.
He might have died young, but his music will live beyond oblivion already having withstood the test of time. Long live Bob Marley.
