KENYA: Eulogizing the Late Great E-Sir, Kenya's Finest Lyricist
16 March 2016
South C’s finest and arguably Kenya’s best MC, E-Sir still remains in our hearts and minds 13 years since the day he passed away.
On this day Issah Mmari Wangui aka E-Sir lost his life in a grizzly road accident at a time when he was at the peak of his career. And 13 years on still a gap is still felt in the local music industry in terms of the talent that he possessed. True we do have some great rappers, but just as there will never be another Notorious B.I.G or 2Pac, there will also never be another E-Sir.
To this day we eulogize him for great hits the likes of Maisha, Moss Moss, Saree, Hamunitishi, Leo ni Leo, Boomba Train among many others.
And today some of the industry greats including Nameless who was in the same road accident that E-Sir perished have come out to eulogize him. Here’s what they said;
“Can't believe it's been 13 years on this day since you left us... #E-sirForever #neverbeforgotten #westilldancetoyourmusic #King #legend #wemissyou #16March2003,” - Nameless
“Kenya's finest South C's finest #Pirates #Regrann .. Gone but never forgotten,” - Avril
“Today we honour E-Sir. A legend. A force and hands down one of the best musicians to ever grace the Kenyan Music Scene,” - Elani
And from us the Mdundo family we continue to remember and celebrate him.
