Kimya set to release 'The Ten Rap Commandments' this month!

One of Kenya’s finest Hiphop artist Clarence Kimani aka Kimya is set to release his much anticipated mixtape at the end of this month.

The 2006 Kisima Award winner is regarded as one of the pioneer Hiphop artists in the country and is one of the longest serving underground artists in Kenya since bursting into the limelight more than 20 years ago with hits such as Unakumbuka, Una Acha Game and Thug love.

In an interview with Mdundo Kimya said that he intends to be releasing a new track at least every month and is currently pulling together finances to produce a few videos and be more consistent in the industry.

“The mix tape will be a mix of old and new school hip hop, just to remind the fans that despite all the silence Kimya is still around, the Album which will be released later in June is what will be the real thing, it will be a very positive album,” he shared.


The first song in his mix tape titled “The Ten Rap Commandments” was inspired by the legendary American rapper Biggie and aims at informing his fellow rappers tricks of surviving in the hip hop game.

The rapper also took to social media to announce the news, which he says will be followed by his second solo album later in June.

“Ladies and gentlemen. The new year brings you a mixtape by yours truly by the End of February and my 2nd solo album by June... first track of the mixtape will be titled, "THE TEN 'RAP' COMMANDMENTS"! Ya heard?,” he announced.
