Chameleon urges Kenyan artists to work together

Uganda’s Jose Chameleon’s mission for 2014 is to uplift East African music and sell it to the world.

In an exclusive interview with Willy M Tuva on Citizen Radio today, the Valu valu hit maker talked of his plans for the year and his mission, urging East African musicians to work together and create a unit that will help push their music to the world.

“We are trying to do an East African song, we need to work together and come up with new ideas that will sell our music to the world,” he said

The star who is currently riding high with his hit single “All Di Girls” featuring Nigeria’s Davido was also critical of the collaborations that East African musicians are doing with international artists aiming to penetrate the East African industry but are not willing to open up their markets for East African content.

“Some of these international artists just want to penetrate our market and are not willing to help us get into their markets, Davido is one of the few artists that is trying to help push East African music in West Africa and that is why I worked with him,” he added.

Chameleon, who is one of the veteran musicians in the region also revealed plans for his much awaited “ Tubonge show” on the 28th of march in Uganda that will bring together some of the biggest musicians from across the African continent.
