EXCLUSIVE KENYA: 'I Chased J Cole Down So I could Give Him My Mixtape' - Up Close With The Industry's Fastest Rising Talent, Kagwe Mungai [PART TWO]

[CONTINUED FROM PART ONE]

What is your career highlight so far?

For me it's the little things. Like when people started bringing me their demos. It reminds me of the time when I was just starting out and I was waiting outside in the middle of Uk winter to give j Cole my mixtape.

Tell us about your new project with Muthoni Drummer Queen. How did it come about? How was it working with her? How is the reception of the song been so far?

Muthoni and I met ages ago in a studio jam session that I was just sitting in on. Later we did our first collaboration which was on her album "game changers" (remix). After that we knew the chemistry was insane and we just had to do more work together. And the rest as they say is history. The reception has been great. Only a day in and there is so much love going around for this song. And that's what we wanted; for the fans to own the song and for them to express their "Hotness" this year.

What are your plans for the rest of the year? Any big surprises?

I've got loads planned but I like to surprise people. It's more exciting that way. But I promise to keep you more entertained with each passing release.

When is your album going to be ready?

The album is almost ready. No confirmed dates yet.
