UGANDA: Sundowner featuring "Unsound" Happening Tonight
29 January 2016

Organized by Goethe-Zentrum Kampala the first Sundowner in 2016 is the perfect occasion to celebrate the New Year and to discover "Unsound", an experimental music project developed by Subpharaoh.
Unsound is about exploring sound frequencies, ranging from; a spoon falling down, to waterdrops from an unfastened tap. Unsound turns the sounds we live with into music you can nod your head to. This is- sound. But because it is not what you are used to hearing every day in Kampala, it’s unsound! The music from unsound is resourced from field recordings, sound effects, human vocals and sampling from old cassette tapes. It’s a fusion of African percussions, hip hop breaks, Jazz riffs and a lot more.
At the event you will get a chance to listen to various tunes of unsound, dancers will be invited to interpret the music through their dance moves. This will give us a Sundowner that includes different disciplines and a great opportunity to get together.
Show stars at 6pm Location: Goethe-Zentrum Kampala UGCS Plot 52, Bukoto Street, Kamwokya, P.O.Box 11778 Kampala, Uganda
