KENYA: "I Respect Juliani, Rabbit Even This Kibera Namba Nane Rapper (Octopizzo). But I Am King" - Khaligraph Jones

The ‘Who is King’ conversation was the talk of 2015 in regards to the Hiphop genre. And some of the names that kept popping up during the conversation are those of Rabbit (Kaka Sungura), Juliani, Kayvo KForce, Octopizzo and of course Khaligraph Jones.

The conversation spilled over to 2016 and the same names keep popping up and the ‘Who is King’ concert scheduled to go down this weekend January 30, 2016 was meant to put the matter to rest once and for all.

However plans changed after it was revealed that both Khaligraph and Rabbit who had earlier accepted the challenge pulled out of the concert, perhaps due to their performances on the Sports Pesa Festival also happening on the same day.

Since then Julaini who will still be facing off with another contender, Kayvo Kforce in the concert, has been on social media mocking his opponents for pulling out. Rabbit and Khaligraph however have remained silent all through.

But yesterday during a radio interview with Ghetto Radio, Khaligraph who has been visiting various stations promoting his new jam ‘Ting Badi Malo’ with Chris Kantai, finally spoke about the ‘Who is King’ debate and his words were clear and precise.

According to the rapper, there’s a difference between respect and talking about who is King.

“If you ask me who I respect, I’ll say I respect even an underground artist who is not known. But if you ask me who do you think is king, that’s different…” he said.

“If you’re talking about respect, I respect Juliani, Rabbit, I have a lot of respect for Abbas Kubaff he’s one of my mentors, Bamboo…and the one and only Mr. Chris Kantai…Johnny Vigetti, Kama even this guy from number nane (Octopizzo, though he did not say his name)…I respect that guy…he’s okay,” he added.

He concluded by adding that only he deserves the crown of King, at least going by what the fans say.
