UGANDA: Music Meets Politics in new music video "Retired Colonel" by Fred Sebbaale
8 January 2016

Music has played a very important role in the 2016 elections campaign trail. We started off with Tubonga Nawe by sang by some of Uganda’s top music artists like Chameleone, Bebe Cool, King Saha, Juliana Kanyomozi and many others.
The controversial song hit media waves by storm leaving many music fans with different political ideas feeling betrayed by their stars.
Thereafter “Turning Me On” singer Bruno K, sang a song for the Go Forward team in an attempt to counter the then viral “Tubonga Nawe”. Another artist not directly affiliated to any party camp called Banamutibwa also made the attempt to dethrone "Tubonga Nawe" with a hit “Tetubonga Nawe” which many say was a serious flop.
Today Fred Ssebaale in new song that was timely released with video leveled the game for supporters at the FDC camp for they now have a theme song to use. The song resonates a number of issues that presidential hopeful Retired Colonel Kizza Besigye has been raising during this campaign trail.
