KENYA: Check Out Sauti Sol's Shocking Response to 'Mosquito Net' Fashion Fail

Sauti Sol are no doubt Kenya’s Pride and Joy after having represented Kenya in many international events throughout 2015 and brought numerous accolades for their music and yes even fashion wise.

But despite being named the most fashionable male artistes in East Africa at the Abryans Style and Fashion Awards of 2015, many of their fans felt disappointed when the heartthrobs showed up clad in fishnets, no the term that was used in this case was mosquito nets for their show in Mombasa.

What followed was an online onslaught on Twitter and many social media websites, where Kenyans trolled the artists to no end.

However despite their silence at the time, Sauti Sol have finally come to the defense of their clothing choice. This was during their recent interview with The Daily Naiton’s Showbuzz, whom they gave a somewhat shocking response.

It’s true that Sauti Sol are perhaps the most fashion forward artistes in Kenya and are often seen clad in daring clothing which you would see few wearing. And because of this they pretty much manage to make headlines every other week.

However when asked about their recent fashion fail, Bein, one of the most popular members of the band said, “Kenyan artistes don’t give people something to talk about other than their music. We chose the outfits ourselves and if we don’t do this who will?”

“Anybody who has ever been great has had these moments. Stay tuned and watch Kenyans wearing our mosquito nets.”

So will the so called ‘Mosquito Net’ style catch on or should Sauti Sol just throw these clothing to the back of their wardrobes? Well as Bien said, stay tuned…
