NEW MUSIC (UGANDA): Listen to Bobi Wine's Initiative for Peaceful Elections in 2016 in new music "Dembe"
4 January 2016

Ugandan singer Bobi Wine aka Ghetto president realeased his first song for 2016 entitled Dembe. In the song he preaches against election–related violence. He calls for peace, saying violence among the youth had increased, which shames the leaders. The message comes at a time Uganda’s eight presidential candidates in the last stretch of their campaigns, which began in November and will end early next month.
It is believed Bobi might have been motivated to release his new song when tensions hieghtened between Museveni's NRM Camp and former prime minister Amama Mbabazi's Go Forward Camp after an incident in Ntungamo in mid December when Mbabazi supporters disarmed and beat the NRM supporters who had attacked them.
Bobi is no stranger to political controversy if you recall his reviews on the "Tubonga Nawe" project that was spearheaded by rival Bebe Cool. There were rumours that the song had been banned by UCC for its alleged brutal honesty on the political status quo in the country which were later refuted by Mr Godfrey Mutabazi, UCC executive director to our sources.
Here are some reactions from Bobi's fans on social media
i wonder how ucc in partnership with your president museveni had to stop asenstising freedom song of BOBI WINE. #DEMBE....
