Reality TV shows like ‘Love and Hiphop’, ‘Basketball Wives’, ‘WAGS’, are popular shows among the upbeat youth of Kenya and Africa at large.
It’s easy to get gripped in the drama which is in most cases unrealistic, but you still buy into it because it’s well delivered by the celebrity actors. But mostly they watch such shows because they want to see what’s going on in the lives of their favorite celebrities.
However all this does is expose the huge gap there is locally in terms of programming of this type, and let’s face it there’s not much for the youth in local programming these days.
