NEWS (KENYA): 'Mbona' Hit Maker Denno Denies Receiving 1 Million in Royalties from Daddy Owen
8 December 2015

Back in 2012 and 2013, Denno was a household name in Kenya after he featured on the smash hit gospel song ‘Mbona’ with Daddy Owen.
A few months after and it was like Denno faded back into the shadows of whence he came. But now as it turns out we didn’t know the whole story.
In recent times rumors have been circulating that Denno had been living in a poor state and it was all Daddy Owen’s fault for not giving him royalties from their song ‘Mbona’.

This was after Denno met with Bahati and decided to express his frustrations in their new song titled ‘Story Yangu’.
Later Daddy Owen’s brother and CEO of Lampstand Records, Rufftone , came out to defend him saying that Denno was given 1 million shillings for the song but misused it.
He added that his brother even went as far as to opening a business for Denno but failed in maintaining it.
This morning however Kiss 100 presenters Kalekye Mumo and Shaffie Weru interviewed Denno and Daddy Owen, seeking to reach a final conclusion in the endless debate.
Speaking on phone, Denno said that he did not receive the said Ksh. 1 Million in cash.
On the other hand Daddy Owen replied saying that he met with Denno and his family and reached an agreement part of which was that Denno was not allowed to speak of the matter again.
He also said that he would deal with Denno and Bahati just like any father would his children.
