Prediction of artists set to take over in 2014
6 January 2014
Music is one of the most blatantly difficult things to predict, I mean who knew at the start of 2013 that top secular artist Size 8 would turn to Christianity and top charts? or that rapper Rabbit would set the pace for remixes in a unique 10 minute hit track and at the same time launch a new album?
Predictions are not always right and may not turn out as expected but it still wouldn’t hurt just looking into the future and seeing what 2014 could probably have in store for some of our artists.
I have a feeling the following 15 artists will have a lot to celebrate come the end of this year.
#15 Bahati – One of the best newcomers in the industry last year, kick starting his career on a high note with hit songs like ‘Machozi’ and ‘Mama’ with an album in the works 2014 definitely looks promising for him.
#14 Victoria Kimani – The ‘Mtoto’ superstar is making waves all over Africa and 2014 is not even enough for her.
#13 Kristoff – Looking at his progress over the past year, ¬¬ think this will be a household name in 2014
#12 Fena Gitu – She gave us massive hits last year such as Brikicho and Dutch ft Kagwe , it only gets better this year for her .
#11 KIU – The all girl group from Sauti academy is in for a good one this year seeing that they are fast gaining popularity and enjoying fair share of live performances in events.
#10 Rabbit – closed down the year with a new album and being one of the best male artists last year, his creativity and passion will see him sour higher in 2014.
#9 Sugar – signed under Phoenix Records, rapper Sugar is definitely a force to reckon with
#8 Octopizzo – ‘Number Nane’ has been on top all through 2013 with Safaricom live tour, and with the free time he now has in hand he is definitely going to be giving us brand new hits.
#7 Kagwe Mungai – His latest track TKK ft Madtraxx is receiving massive airplay and if the start is anything to go by then 2014 will be great for him
#6 Wangechi – The 19 year old femcee got off to a great start last year and 2014 looks promising for her.
#5 Khaligraph Jones – With his persistence and consistency for sure 2014 looks promising for Khali.
#4 Jay A – The promising young artist proved his skills and talent last year and he definitely has much more up his sleeve
#3 Sage – Her undeniably powerful vocals gained her a massive fanbase and this year she is headed for greatness.
#2 Muthoni DQ – With a new album under her name, we expect nothing but good music from her.
#1 Elani – After rebranding and releasing an album under them, they are set to take over this year.
