Goodnews “Nexarito” is an Afrofusion artist and songwriter from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, now based in Lafia, Nasarawa State. He is the founder of the Nexarito brand — a name he carries alone, and a name he is determined to make known worldwide.
Born on February 11, 2002, in Akwa Ibom State, Nexarito’s journey has been shaped by resilience and faith. In 2010, at age 8, he was called to Lagos by his aunt. Instead of enrolling him in school, she placed him in her shop, where he worked as a trader from Monday to Saturday for seven years. During that time, he received no formal education and was treated without care or support.
Before moving to Lagos, Nexarito had completed primary school in Akwa Ibom. When he left Lagos, his aunt’s younger sister in Lafia offered him a new chance. He relocated to Nasarawa State, started secondary school, and completed it against the odds.
Through every hardship, music remained his constant. Nexarito discovered his gift for singing early, and he held onto it as proof that God had a greater plan for him. Today, he works in Lafia while building his music career from the ground up, funding recordings and production himself.
His sound blends Afrofusion, Afrobeats, and heartfelt storytelling, with released songs including _Come Dance For Me_ and _KOLO_. His music speaks to struggle, hope, and the belief that tomorrow is possible.
Nexarito’s parents are still young, but with limited means. He often says he feels like “someone without parents,” but his faith and community keep him moving forward. He calls on his fellow Akwa Ibom people and all supporters to stand with him.
He has made one promise: when he reaches the top, he will never forget. He will open doors for other upcoming artists from Akwa Ibom and beyond.
