Chart topper Rabbit’s Ligi Soo Remix toppled from Mdundo number one

Rabbit has for six weeks now clung on to number one on Mdundo TOP25 weekly chart but his all-time hit Ligi Soo Remix has finally been toppled from the top spot. This is however common with the release of new songs.

Last Friday fellow rapper Octopizzo released a brand new hit ‘NINI?’ attracting massive legal downloads over the weekend that saw the track overturn the chat and shot straight to number one.

There were several new entries in the Top25 including Mwakenya’s latest ‘Mziki’ featuring new singer Beetow and steady Swahili rapper Labalaa, ‘Give it to me remix’ by Military Swag and YOLO by Dope Ink Music Group.

Rabbit is now number two. Something interesting with the chart is that before Rabbit took over the top spot six weeks ago, Octopizzo was reigning with his hit ‘Stay So Fly’ and it seems to be a sort of crown exchange. We still don’t know what Rabbit is up to though he might be releasing a new track in two weeks.

“Competition is healthy and I’m glad that Mdundo has provided a platform where everyone can show case their work. I have been topping the charts for a while and where there is competition there is democracy. My main aim is to make sure that i leave a mark in the industry,” Rabbit said after being contacted for a comment this morning.

On his side Octo said “I appreciate the fans for being behind me and keeping the downloads coming. I was also overwhelmed by the reception; I didn’t expect that much but it’s just an effort.”

Rabbit is currently the only artist on Mdundo to have most songs featured on a single chart with a record of seven songs.
