Pharell Williams to release solo album next year!
19 December 2013
After giving us several hit songs through his features in some of the top singles of the year, Pharell Williams is set to release his first solo album in eight years next year.
The new album will follow his 2006 LP 'In My Mind' and he has signed to Columbia Records for the release.
The guardian reports that the album will feature Williams' track 'Happy', for which he recently created the world's first 24 hour-long music video.
Some of the successful collaborative songs he has worked on this year include 'Blurred Lines' and 'Get Lucky' attesting the success of these songs to the fact that they give people a break from reality.
Speaking to GQ after being named hit maker of the year by the magazine, the producer and signer says that the success of his Number One tracks with Daft Punk and Robin Thicke were down to people wanting to escape from all the bad things in the world.
“Both songs are for people who need a break," he says. "There's a lot of fucked-up travesty in the world. Sometimes you just need a Hallmark card. Sometimes you just need to shake your ass."
Knowing that Pharell always goes out of the ordinary to give massive hits, let’s wait and see what he has in store for us.
