In a recent interview, De Mogul SA shared how he came up with his stage name:
"De Mogul SA is a well-thought-out, researched name. I had to rebrand myself from being just a DJ to a producer, and I needed a name that would reflect my new direction. Being well-respected in my community, the name 'De Mogul' reflects that respect, while 'SA' simply means South Africa—because anyone can be a mogul, but the SA completes the identity."

Age & Background
At 35 years old, De Mogul SA has already established himself as a DJ, Producer, and Mixing Engineer. Born and raised in Mafikeng, North West, he grew up surrounded by the powerful sounds of Motswako, which would later influence his musical journey.

Musical Journey
De Mogul SA's love for music started in 2004, with a deep passion for Motswako music. By 2007, he had developed an interest in DJing and began learning to mix songs. His journey was inspired by his local crew, who had a sound system but lacked a DJ to bring it to life.

Breakthrough Moment
His big break came with the release of his hit song “OE BATLA KAE”, marking his official entry into the mainstream music scene. "When I got my first hit song, things started getting serious, and I realized that this was my true calling," says De Mogul SA.

Describing his sound, De Mogul SA says, "My music reflects my experiences in life. I create beats that echo my personal journey. My sound is a fusion of Afro elements, designed to reflect the times. I'm inspired by artists like HHP, Manoo, and Black Coffee, who have had a lasting impact on the music scene."
