EXCLUSIVE (UGANDA): Lilian Mbabazi Steals Ugandans' Hearts With Her 'Up Close And Personal' Performance

The one thought that invaded everyone's mind this past Friday at Lilian Mbabazi's "Up close and Personal" event, was ''Where were the other Blu 3 girls to join Lilian on this wonderful milestone?"

After the two hour - long performance, everyone at the venue finally had a rather solid clue of what the mythological singing Sirens would sound under the spotlight. Her performance that night was more than just 'lights, camera, action'. She played the part, felt it and became an extension of it. And the baroque piece of art that emerged was beyond heavenly! In fact, as much as Uganda was listening, I bet angels were keenly looking below taking notes.

I don't think Friday nights at the Kampala Serena Hotel will ever be the same after such a fete! From "Kawa," "Kuuma Obudde," "Dagala," "Simple Girl" and closing the event with "Vitamin'', I believe her lungs may have come alive after such an experiennce.

And how much more daring can a girl be? Lilian adorned the Amazonian spirit and took on some of the songs done by Blu 3 like "Where You Are," "and "Hitaji" with help from her trumpeter, Emmanuel Dragu, helping out to sing some lines sang by the other girls.

There were appearnces from local artistes such as The Mith, Toniks, Irene Ntale and A-Pass, who joined her for some duets but it was the sight of Jamaican singer Nyanda's cameo do that caught everyone off guard.

To call this 'just another performance' would be a mistake of utter proportions! This was more than music, more than a performance, more than a concert. It, dear reader, was a lifetime experience!
