The nominees for the prestigious South African Music Awards (SAMA30) have been , setting the stage for an exciting event on the  2nd of  November 2024.

This year's theme, "Less Noise, More Music," promises to celebrate artistry and creativity while highlighting the exceptional talent of South Africa's music scene. 

Tyla’s self-titled album secured nominations in several major categories, including Album of the Year and Female Artist of the Year, while her collaboration with Travis Scott on the hit single "Water" earned her a nomination for Best Collaboration.

Amapiano continues to dominate, with Kabza De Small and Mthunzi earning three nominations for their album Isimo, including SAMPRA Album of the Year and Best Amapiano Album. Other standout nominees include Mbuso Khoza, whose work on the Shaka iLembe Soundtrack Album Volume 2 garnered multiple nominations, and Kelvin Momo, Daliwonga, and De Mthuda, who will compete for Male Artist of the Year.

 Zuko SA’s latest album, Umkhonto has earned him a spot in the Best Afro-Pop Album category

 In the fiercely contested Female Artist of the Year category, Tyla faces off against the likes of Brenda Mtambo, Lwah Ndlunkulu, and gospel star Xolly Mncwango, while the Newcomer of the Year category sees fresh talents like Sykes and Lwah Ndlunkulu take center stage. 

With such a diverse range of nominees, SAMA30 is set to be a memorable celebration of South Africa’s vibrant music industry.

The nominees for SAMA30 were announced at the Gallagher Convention Centre, sparking excitement for the awards ceremony on 2 November. 

The event, themed "Less Noise, More Music," will celebrate the finest in South African music, with categories spanning a diverse range of genres and styles.
