EXCLUSIVE: Artist Or Not, Here's Your Chance To Make History By Being Part Of Africa's First Crowd-Sourced Song!
17 August 2015
Award-winning songwriters and producers, Cobhams Asuquo from Nigeria, David “KING DAVID” Muthami from Kenya and Ellputo from Mozambique have joined forces to create a song that inspires the youth of Africa to know the power they hold as active citizens in their communities. This song will be performed by A-list artists from across the African continent and will include a verse crowdsourced from the public. The resulting track will be the first of its kind for Africa and a major asset for the Global Goals campaign, which aims to promote the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals around the world.
By taking part, a member of the public stands a chance to win $500 and be credited alongside Cobhams Asuquo and KING DAVID as a fellow songwriter. The crowdsourcing approach will also allow the song to have an authentic voice – from the thousands of entries expected, the songwriters will get a real feel for the issues near to the hearts of the participants.

“The brief was a challenging one,” said KING DAVID. “But crowdsourcing lyrics add another layer of depth and truth to making what we expect will be Africa’s next big hit.” The song will be Africa’s greatest contribution in a worldwide campaign to “Tell Everyone” about the Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
