Kenyan artist Kenana Mwasi is glad that she started her music career by collaborating with other players in the industry and she is now confident in her solo music career.

Kenana marked the start of her R&B and Soul journey with ‘Sometimes’ produced by Ethan Muziki who is now her resident producer.

She loved music from an early age and the piano gave her a lot of hope in her career. Kenana enrolled for piano lessons and later for vocal coaching at Kenya Conservatoire.

Armed with her magical voice and golden fingers on the piano, she landed different musical projects with different labels and artists.

She has worked with Decimal Records on ‘Pumzika’ which features Brian Nadra and she now has the wings to fly the Kenyan Soul and R&B genre.

“As an artist, I see myself as both authentic and experimental, constantly exploring new avenues of artistic expression. When it comes to my music, I would describe it as soulful and deeply resonant. It's the kind of music that invites listeners to immerse themselves in a journey of emotions, perfect for moments of introspection or relaxation,” she tells Tuko in an interview.

Kenana presents herself as a multifaceted artist, blending authenticity with a spirit of experimentation in her music. She emphasizes her commitment to exploring new artistic territories while staying true to her personal experiences and emotions.

By describing her music as "soulful and deeply resonant," she says that her work carries a profound emotional weight and invites listeners to engage with their feelings.

Kenana’s debut single ‘Sometimes’ is gradually opening doors for her in the industry and she has so much more lined up for her fans.
