Veteran Tanzanian artist TID had a beautiful concert in Nairobi on Wednesday evening at uptown club, Quiver Lounge Kilimani.

This was his first Kenyan performance in eight years. The "Zeze" hitmaker took the stage at Quiver Lounge Kilimani to a packed crowd eager to see him live.

TID's return to Kenya comes after a recent viral TikTok moment that reignited interest in the Bongo Flava star. The lighthearted clip showed TID playfully questioning a passerby who interrupted his interview.

The clip went viral across Kenya and it triggered an interest in the Bongo Flava star whose music rocked East Africa in early to mid 2000s.

Event organizer Roba Gitau expressed his excitement about bringing TID back to Kenya.

"He's been wanting to perform here for a while," Gitau told reporters. "Quiver Lounge was the perfect place to kick things off."

Fans were treated to a nostalgic set filled with TID's greatest hits, including "Ng'ambo," "Veronica," and of course, "Zeze." The energy in the venue was electric as fans sang along and danced the night away.

Although the years have gone by gracefully, TID still has a hold on his live music concerts. He charged the crowd beautifully and unleashed a few dance moves leaving the crowd more entertained.

At the peak of his career in 2008, TID found himself in jail over assault and when he was released, he got hooked on abusing hard drugs such as cocaine.

While he did it for two years, he lost some of his property by selling it to keep up with the demand for the drugs.

It was former Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete who summoned him and talked him out of this vice that was slowly making him become a junkie.

He is scheduled to perform at BND along Kiambu Road on Friday.
