Kenyan Afro-pop artist Mayonde has announced the release of her new EP ‘Start Again’ on Friday, April 19.

It is a major step in her music career since it marks her comeback to the music scene in a big way after a long while of no new music from her.

Mayonde informed her fans that she is focused on the good part of her life which music is a part of despite the challenges she has faced.

The EP’s title ‘Start Again’ describes in full what the new extended play is all about.

“Start Again EP drops this Friday,” she wrote on her Instagram page. Her inspiration for the EP and its art cover comes from a visit to Kenya’s Coast which inspired her in a big way.

“I was at the coast a few months ago and kept seeing this purple and orange butterfly and it felt like a confirmation that I had evolved and transformed. A metamorphosis if you will. Feels like God restored me and is giving me wings to fly and I kinda got to capture it energetically in this project. Excitoz!!! she added.

Mayonde rose to stardom when she released ‘Nairobi’ featuring Stone Jiwe seven years ago. She also collaborated with other famous artists such as Blinky Bill, Fena Gitu, MDQ (Muthoni the Drummer Queen), and Kagwe Mungai.

With plans to release a new album already in top gear, she is ready to reinvent herself and entertain her fans once more.
