- Wanja Asali - Wakinya Meere
The Kikuyu Benga songstress has an amazing song out titled ‘Wakinya Meere’ loosely translating to ‘inform them when you arrive’. It is a subtle message to those who also look down on others and the challenges she faces in her job as an artist.
Drawing from one of her experiences as artist, she says that there are instances when she has performed in concerts but was never paid her full amount as agreed. But, she still moves on with life despite all this. Her message to such characters is that they should be told that life still goes on but there still is payback.
