Emma Jalamo Drops 7th Studio Album ‘Safari Ya Muziki’

Luo Benga artist Emma Jalamo has released his seventh studio album titled ‘Safari Ya Muziki’.

The new album has a total of 16 songs, each telling a unique story of his musical journey a little over a decade ago.

Jalamo launched his new album in Nairobi in an event attended by fellow luo artists among them Prince Indah, Freddy Jakadongo, Eli Toto, Okoth Jarapogi, John Junior Kaka Talanta, and Elvis Kadori.

He said that ‘Safari Ya Muziki’ is a project that is very special to him because a part of his life is in this album.  The Benga artist also celebrates Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga who has supported his music career in a big way.

He also serenaded his mother in ‘Happy Birthday Mama’.

Jalamo, renowned for his unique voice and enthralling performances, never fails to captivate audiences with his extensive musical background. Jalamo who started as a gospel artist before shifting to Ohangla music was motivated by the vivid sounds of traditional Luo music.

He has established himself as a household figure in the East African music scene throughout the course of his more than two-decade career. His proficiency on the nyatiti, a traditional Luo string instrument, distinguishes him as a cultural icon.

He creates a distinctive musical fusion by fusing traditional rhythms with modern elements.
