International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th each year.It commemorates the struggles for women’s rights and equality .In addition we get to celebrate the socio- economic , cultural and political strives , achievements of the women in the world . The day has its roots in the early 1900’s when groups of women around the world began to organize and demand equal rights.

In 1911, the first International Women’s Day was celebrated in Germany , Austria , Denmark , and Switzerland . Since then , the day has been recognized by the United Nations and is celebrated in many countries around the globe. Today is marked with events , protests , and speeches that highlight the ongoing fight for gender equality, and women empowerment .

International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate the progress that has been made towards gender equality , and to renew our commitment to creating a more equal and just world for all women. On this day , let us honor the brave women who have fought for equality throughout history , and let us redouble our efforts to ensure that all women have the opportunity to reach their potential.
