We love our mothers or mother figures in our lives . There is no unmistakable deniability to that notion .We cherish them as they are our first friends , to a large extent our first love . They are our support system , the people who dont judge , our biggest cheerleaders, shoulders to lean on , and beckons to reckon with. As such , Mother’s Day is one of the most celebrated holidays in the world .

How did the Holiday come about ?

The modern day concept of Mother’s Day was first coined by Ann Jarvis in 1908.She lost her mother wanted to create a day to honor all mothers .She chose the second Sunday of May as an anniversary for her mother ‘s death . Since then , Mother’s Day celebrations have always occurred on the 12th day of May .

Mother’s Day is a day marked to celebrate and honor mothers and motherhood .  During the day people show their appreciation to their mothers with gifts , flowers and cards . Some take further steps to take them out to dinners or spend the day doing something special together.

It's quite a significant day as the holiday celebrates the role of mothers in society and recognizes the importance of maternal bonds . No matter where you are in the world , this holiday is a time to show appreciation and love for the special women in our lives .
