Kenyan gospel artist Guardian Angel has released yet another new song ‘Funga Mdomo’.

He draws inspiration for the song from Proverbs 17: 27-28 where he urges people to learn the power of silence.

The verse reads: “The one who knows uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered. Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.”

Guardian Angel in the songs says some problems people go through is as a result of speaking about their plans and visions to people with only evil intentions.

Therefore; he urges; ‘Funga Mdomo’ which loosely translates to “Keep Quiet’. The Kenyan artist insists that even fools seem to be wise when they keep quiet.

In his artistic lyrics, he sings, “Kuna vitu vingine kwa maisha yako ni ya kunyamaza siri zako za ndani na mambo yako si ya kutangaza, nakuona vile unafunguka mbele ya mbeshte yako itakuumiza ukikgundua wale unawaamini ndio wanaeneza, Funga mdomo…”

Just like the old saying that your enemies are people within your circle, Guardian Angel paints a dark picture of the so-called friends.

In his prayers, one of the things he asked God for was to get rid of his enemies but it ended in him losing his friends.

Then, he realized that those he thought were good people to him were his biggest setback, and God removed them from his life.

Thus, ‘Funga Mdomo’ is both educative and prophetic in nature.
