Where is Naiboi? What Happened to his Music Career?

Where is the once-celebrated Kenyan artist Naiboi? This was the trending question over the weekend across social media platforms.
Kenyan music fans are now wondering what happened to the ‘2 in 1’ hitmaker for the last three years.
Naiboi explained in 2021 that he was having contractual issues with his then music label, Universal Music Group which made it impossible to release new music from 2019.
He said that it was a difficult moment for him seeing that he could not push out new songs despite having a huge fanbase.All I ever wanted is to release music for my fans. And I know my fans are worried wondering what's up with A Naiboi!! My Hands have been tied for almost 2years now. And I am tired of being at the mercy of these people," he explained.
"I might need serious lawyers. I might, I think. Nimefika mwisho. I Miss NaiBoi as much as you do. Pray for me. I keep everything to myself a lot, but imefika mwisho. I love music so much it hurts to have over 800 songs and I can't release even a single one," he further stated.
He finally ended his contract with the label in 2022 and he excitedly shared the news with his fans. Naiboi promised to release new music but two years on, there is nothing from him musically and otherwise.
“Finally Free to Release Music / Been a Tough 3-year situation. But Hey why Complain when I can Finally killem widit. My YouTube channel is Naiboi Worldwide do subscribe if you have Not. If you have Stay alert it's Go Time,” he raised hope among his fans.
He isn’t active either on social media with his last post on Instagram celebrating Savara sharing a moment with King Charles III when he visited Kenya in 2023.
