1 July 2015
'Not from my albums - oh my god. People don't make money off albums,' she laughed. 'We're talking about business, investments, and selling companies I've started.' Stated international music act Nicki Minaj during a recent interview with Matthias Vriens Mcgrath on the Cosmolitan.

Words every upcoming artist, established or simply every fan who adores the art that is music should soak in.
Especially as Mdundo goes ahead to pay artists their royalties this second billing period of the year 2015! See, reason why I feel this words from the 2015 BET Award winner for Best Female category, is because there is a mentality that harbors the minds of various artists. A mentality that whispers “This music will pay my rent, get me that new pair of Nike kicks, right before I buy that whip and head for the Masaku 7s.”
A lie that has had artists getting into music for all the wrong reasons and believing that if they are not cashing in from music, then either the world is not fair or someone is ‘stealing’ from them.
Nicki - who has an estimated $50M fortune - is the largest single shareholder in the company that distributes Myx Fusions Moscato.
The Other Woman actress is currently hard at work on the set of Barbershop 3, in which she plays a sassy new hairdresser called Draya. So as much as the stage lights and the World Wide Web scream that Nicki Minaj is an amazing artist, her billions didn’t come from endless nights in the music studio; she has an infinite number of side hustles.
So before you go around saying Mdundo, iTunes, Soundcloud, Mziiki or any other music distribution channel is swindling you, let the above words resonate in you.
