Did you know that of more than 23 songs she has released in her music career Spice Diana loves her first song ‘Onsanula’ more than any other?

‘Onsanula’ is the song that started her music career and it holds a lot of musical relevance for her which she has openly spoken about in the past.

This, together with ‘Koona’, ‘Ndi Mu Love’ and ‘Siri’ regular are close to her heart more than any other song.

She released this song in 2014 in what she describes as her first successful attempt in songwriting. Dr. Fizo produced it and later managed her when she joined Avie Records.

‘Onsanula’ won Spice Diana her first music award, the Best Female Breakthrough Artist at the 3rd HiPipo Music Awards in 2015. Ugandans voted for her on social media and she won the award.

She wrote down this song with Ugandans in mind and she speaks against police brutality and gaps in administration. It is more of a social justice hit that the celebrated Ugandan artist once got into trouble for.

Spice Diana recalls a sad incident in 2017 where she had trouble with the police shortly after performing this song.

She was performing at the Kampala City Festival and delivered an amazing performance with ‘Onsanula’ which has a verse on insensitivity by the police.

What followed was a sad clobbering by the police and she admitted after this incident that her verse on the police earned her a beating.

Nevertheless, this song shaped her music career and taught her what music means to people. The sacrifice she always made to juggle between her studies and make club appearances and perform this song formed the foundation of her entire music career.
