Ugandan artist Gravity Omutujju has expressed frustration after YouTube removed his latest song ‘Doboozi Lya Mutuuze’ where he calls out greedy politicians.

He accuses the political class, to a big extent Ugandan artist turned politician Bobi Wine, of greed and exploitation.

Gravity's conflict with Bobi Wine originates from the latter's outspoken objection to the allocation of Shs 13 billion to Ugandan musicians.

The Ministry of Finance allocated Shs13 billion to support artists through the Microfinance Support Centre. However, Bobi Wine opposed this move.

Further, the song in dispute ‘Doboozi Lya Mutuuze’ amplifies Gravity’s ongoing criticism of Bobi Wine, whom he accuses of being disconnected from the struggles of ordinary people.

Gravity has for a while now urged the Ugandan opposition leader to contribute a portion of his extensive land in Busabala for the construction of a health facility, if he truly cares about the welfare of the people.

Shortly after uploading the new song on YouTube, it was removed due to alleged copyright infringement. The giant video-sharing platform explained that Gravity’s new song has borrowed the  song's melody from Bobi Wine’s 2006 hit “Kiwaani.”

In a vile social media post, Gravity criticized the opposition leader for attempting to silence dissenting voices.

“Wabula akatengo nga bwebakogera kadala. Now see the person who wants change. Because my song talks about greedy people and thieves you have decided to pull it down!!!!! Eddoboozi lyomutuuze omukulu omu alilwanyisa,” he wrote on Instagram.

Gravity in an apparent attack on Bobi Wine's presidential aspiration questioned what would happen with political aspirants hoping to rule Uganda if they ascend to the presidency with such character.

“Dem think that denying the public the mirror to see their real colors will save them. Now imagine a presidential hopeful doing this to a junior turned star. Imagine if you guys had power and authority,” he lamented.
